Sangita’s story – how safe water changed one girl’s life

Sangita’s story – how safe water changed one girl’s life
In 2018, working with our partner, Bala Vikasa, we provided safe water access for Sangita, her family, and the rest of the community in Karlai Village, India.

The villagers helped to install a borewell, pump, and storage tank, powered by solar panels, so that water can be pumped twice a day, drawing water from the ground.

Previously, her mother and sisters would have to spend hours every day walking to the nearest supply of water. Even when they got there, the water was often contaminated and unsafe to drink.

Fast forward to 2023, and Sangita has graduated from school and is pursuing a Telangana Tribal Welfare Degree at a college in Janagaon near Hyderabad.

All of her family members are in good health, and we’re extremely proud to hear how well she is doing.
