Frank Water launches ‘Peace Flows’ World Water Day Appeal

Frank Water has launched its latest fundraising appeal to coincide with World Water Day on 22 March to raise £30,000 to support the most vulnerable communities with access to clean, safe water.

The ‘Peace Flow’s appeal will run for one week – midday on 20 March until midday on 27 March, and all donations up to £15,000 will be doubled by match funders including Apacor, Blue Sky Botanics, Ethicall, and ByWater Services.

The appeal will highlight water’s crucial role in nurturing inner peace and community cooperation.  By collaborating closely with communities, Frank Water has seen firsthand how improved access to clean, safe water alleviates the burden of water scarcity and uncertainty, fostering peace and harmony within families and communities.

Supporting families like the Dabhades

The money raised from the appeal can help support families like the Dabhades in rural Maharastra to achieve water security.  They have been significantly affected by severe droughts and intensive sugarcane farming, with the increased use of pesticides and fertilisers degrading the water quality to the extent that growing vegetables is extremely challenging, even turning them black.

Alka Dabhade said: “We are suffering from water contamination and air pollution, even our animals won’t touch the well water.  Moving out is our only option.”

Frank Water’s team is guiding families like the Dabhades and their community in accessing enough clean water to meet their needs and ensure it’s safe for drinking, making it feasible for them to remain in their village homes and not be forced to migrate elsewhere.

You can support Frank Water’s Appeal by donating today, and all donations up to £15,000 will be doubled by match funding until midday on 27 March.
