Festival volunteer, spice guru and recycling entrepeneur, Sanjay has been supporting FRANK water since his first volunteering experience at Womad 2013. He runs an artisan tea and spice company called Spice Kitchen with his mum and also a cork recycling initiative called Recorked UK, both of which support FRANK Water with donations and prizes!
Romy Gill MBE
With several fundraising events under her belt (including the Mumbai Marathon), Chef Romy Gill has raised more than £4000 for FRANK Water. Events include co-ordinating and hosting an event in London for International Women's Day 2016 and FRANK Water’s inaugural Rainmaker breakfast for corporate partners in 2018.
As a student at University of Bristol, Hamish started supporting FRANK Water as a member of Engineers without Borders. On graduating, he spent a Summer working as FRANK Water's Refill Coordinator and is now a Water Engineer for Arup, based in Bristol. In this role, he manages and supports the Partnerships between FRANK Water and Arup and helps spread the word and fundraise for FRANK Water along with his colleagues. Hamish also continues to volunteer at various events and festivals throughout the summer.
Steven first became involved with FRANK via his role in Engineers without Borders at the University of Bristol. His enthusiasm for FRANK Water has led him to volunteer and fundraise for FRANK, including taking part in the Bantham Swoosh in 2017. Steven is a qualified water engineer for Arup and uses his skills to contribute to FRANK’s delivery of safe and appropriate WASH services for the people who currently lack them.
Alex Lucas || Artist
Bristol based artist Alex met the FRANK water team when she was commissioned to draw a wall-sized map of India. Since then, Alex has run several Bath Half Marathons, dressed as taps and toilets, organised a large-scale Karma Korma curry event, designed our beautiful Festival Refill kiosks and donated various of her designs for prizes. Alex said "The FRANK water team were so engaging and charismatic, I immediately felt part of the team. I was honoured to be asked to help promote the work FRANK water does."
Sophie is a water engineer who first volunteered for FRANK Water as a Festival Refill technician in 2013. Since then, she has continued to support us by volunteering at festivals and events and fundraised for us by taking part in the Bath Half Marathon. Sophie has also hosted Karma Korma events in 2016 and 2018.
Having taken on some mammoth fundraising challenges over the years, Andy is one of our longest standing and best-loved supporters. In 2012, he ran 7 marathons in 7 days. Two years later, he upped his game to run 9 marathons in 5 days. And in 2016, Andy ran from John O Groats to Lands End (a cool 860 miles). So far he has raised over £25,000 for FRANK and hopes to increase this amazing total when he takes on the South West Coastal Path run in 2019
As the Operations Manager of a charity himself, David understands all too well the challenges that small charities face and continues to be a regular supporter of FRANK Water. In December 2012, he cycled to work dressed as Santa, every day for a month to raise awareness of the importance of safe water and raised over £800.
Paul has been supporting FRANK Water for over 5 years. He has run a number of different half marathons with his partner Alex (both of them dressed in home-made tap and toilet costumes!) and raised several thousand pounds. In 2017, Paul helped design and build the fantastic new frontage for FRANK Water's Festival Refill Kiosks and in 2018, Paul undertook a 24 hour marathon DJ extravaganza raising over £1,000!
Jim has over thirty years experience working with herbs, spices and food at Bart Ingredients. He has a passion for community matters both locally and in the countries where Bart sources its ingredients. Jim has been an ambassador for FRANK Water for over five years and has taken part and organised many events. In 2016, Jim walked the full 630 miles along the South West Coast Path and raised over £10,000. In 2107, he spent time with one of FRANK Water's partners in India's Madhya Pradesh where he visited three villages that have benefitted from safe water and sanitation.
Kaye is a water engineer based in Cambridge and firmly believes clean water and sanitation is something that should be available to everyone. She has been involved with FRANK Water for several years, volunteering for FRANK’s Festival Refill service and was fortunate enough to visit some of our projects in India first-hand in 2018. As one of our more recent Ambassadors, she is excited about being able to inspire more people to support the work of FRANK Water and also plans to run the Bath Half Marathon in 2019.
Peter has been a keen supporter of FRANK Water for several years having regularly attended our Annual Fundraising Dinner. In September 2018, he and his wife Jane, took part in our first Cycle for Safe Water Challenge in India and helped raise over £5,000. As one of our most recently appointed Ambassadors he hopes to support FRANK Water to reach new audiences and raise more money. He plans to run the Bath Half Marathon in 2019.
