In an exciting new collaboration, Earth Cubs, Frank Water, Xylem, and Arup have united to develop engaging and educational content focused on freshwater conservation and sustainability.
This innovative partnership aims to captivate and educate primary school students across the UK and beyond with engaging videos and interactive lesson plans, fostering a deeper understanding of water’s critical role in our world. Through Xylem and Arup’s specific expertise in water plus Frank Water’s knowledge of global water scarcity issues, the collaboration has meant the carefully curated selection of educational resources can succinctly deliver the right messages and the most up-to-date solutions to Key Stage 1 and 2 children.
Call for Volunteers
To maximise the impact of these resources, this collaboration is calling on businesses across the UK and globally to volunteer their time and expertise. They invite employees to participate in this initiative by using the developed materials on the Earth Cub website, to teach water education in local schools. This is an excellent opportunity for businesses to contribute to the community, support educational enrichment, and champion water sustainability.
By joining this collaborative effort, businesses can play a pivotal role in shaping a generation of environmentally-conscious students and fostering a sustainability culture within our future generations and workplaces.
The educational videos and lesson plans have been devised to make teaching this topic easy. They are accompanied by volunteer resources, including videos and tips on presenting to children and creating your own engaging assembly.
These resources are free to access and globally available. The videos have already been seen by more than 150,000 children, and the resources are being used by more than 1,500 teachers worldwide.
Lizzie Archer, Frank Water, Corporate Partnerships Manager said: “Our mission has always been to raise awareness about the importance of water and this collaboration is a fantastic opportunity to extend our impact and engage the next generation in a meaningful way.”
Michelle Parkes, Earth Cubs, Head of Growth and Impact said: “We are big believers in the positive impact that storytelling can have on children all over the world. It has been amazing to collaborate with Frank Water, Xylem and Arup to bring this vital topic of water to life using our crazy characters!”
Matt Boxall, Xylem, Product Sustainability Engineer said: “Education and collaboration are two of the most important tools we have in addressing global water issues. At Xylem, we jumped at the opportunity to support this collaboration and offer our perspective as a global water technology company on water systems and the challenges they’re facing. I have been inspired by the process and I’m excited to take the content into school with my colleagues!”
Chloe Taylor, Arup, Civil Engineer said: “At Arup, we aim to produce social value that has widespread impact and improves people’s lives. We are proud to have been part of this partnership to develop free, high-quality educational materials which can be accessed globally. The videos and supporting lesson plans aspire to help children to better understand global water issues in a way that is fun, hopeful, and inspiring!”
