Trekking in Nepal for Team Frank

In April 2025, Frank undertook Nepal trek in aid of Frank Water, raising an incredible £781. He was inspired by Frank Water’s work rejuvenating springsheds in the Himalayas, and had an incredible experience at the same time…

“Working in the water industry myself and having worked in several developing countries on water supply projects, I know how important and life changing access to a sustainable water supply is for communities in developing countries. Making the link of my trek in Nepal to supporting the work Frank Water is undertaking in Nepal on climate resilient springshed management therefore seemed an obvious choice and an opportunity to raise funds for those that need the water most.”

Here’s how Frank described his trip…

Over a 20-day period I undertook a trek around Manaslu (8167m) which is the 7th highest mountain in the world and situated on the north-west of Kathmandu straddling the border with Tibet/China. Starting at around 800m altitude, amidst the terraced fields and sub-tropical forests of the foothills, the environment gradually transformed into the arid, high-altitude landscapes associated with Tibetan culture, cumulating in crossing the majestic Larkya La pass at almost 5,200m altitude. Trekking around Manaslu gave me the most awesome mountain views. This trip was a fantastic experience, a physical challenge trekking over 160km, ascending 9,000m, camping over the 20 days in cold environments, but also the opportunity to visit remote Buddhist villages and experience a cultural and geographic diverse area in Nepal.
