Paula is a water professional specialised in climate resilience. She has worked in both the private and non-profit sectors and has a strong knowledge of international best practices, with experience adapting them to diverse cultural and local contexts. Her WASH experience spans both urban and rural projects, with a particular focus on mainstreaming gender, equality, and social inclusion (GESI) in WASH programmes.
Paula currently works at C40 Cities, supporting cities globally to address urban flooding. Before joining C40, she worked at Arup as a Senior Water Consultant with a focus on International Development. Her work in Asia, Africa, and Latin America—through C40 and Arup, and previously in Madagascar implementing WASH projects with the NGO SEED Madagascar—has given her in-depth knowledge of a wide range of clients and partners, including NGOs, governments, UN agencies, and development banks. This experience has provided Paula with a deep understanding of the complexity and richness involved in engaging with stakeholders at international, national, and local levels.
