Our friends at Holidays in Rural India have created a fabulous six night tour that begins and ends at Bhoramdeo Jungle Retreat, our wonderful base at the foot of the Maikal Hills. You will have the opportunity to explore the local villages and countryside in the company of Sunny; the most enthusiastic host in Central India. Sunny's knowledge of the yearly harvest cycles and the joys and hardships of the villagers whose tolas (hamlets) dot the hills and plains around BJR gives one a genuine insight into rural Indian life that few tourists really see. The highlight of the tour is a two day trek and overnight camp, visiting villages supported by Samerth, one of FRANK Water's NGO Partners that works to provide villagers in that area with safe and sustainable water.
Guests on this holiday are asked to raise £150 for FRANK Water, via Just Giving, on top of the trip cost.
This trip begins and ends in Raipur but we can arrange transfers to and from Mumbai, Delhi or Kolkata and arrange accommodation and guiding with people we know and trust.
The trip is best taken between mid October and end of February to avoid the most extreme weather. However, other dates are possible.
This costs around £850 per person, full board. For more information or to book, contact Sophie at Holidays in Rural India.
