Women from Sikai Banda village collect water from a stream
The first step in any village is to work with the community to create a micro level plan (MLP) of their water resources. Click here to read a full MLP for the village of Sikai Banda. The village is home to 226 people, all of whom are members of the Kondu Tribe (classifed as a Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group). Most villagers work on the nearby coffee plantation. Currently, villagers walk to a stream to fetch water but the supply is often inconsistent and contaminated by another community, upstream.
NB. THIS MLP WAS COMMISSIONED & FUNDED BY ARGHYAM, AN INDIAN NGO. FRANK WATER WILL FUND THE ACTUAL INSTALLATION.

The idea was to showcase our work on gravity fed systems to date, encourage local companies to get involved in different ways and invite feedback from community members.
