What do we do?
FRANK Water works together with local NGOs in areas where there is a great need for safe water. To date, FRANK has funded 70 clean water village projects.
WHERE WE WORK
India:
Since 2005 we have been funding clean water projects in India. We have focussed on removing bacteria, viruses & chemicals using different types of filters. All FRANK water projects are sustainable, community run rural village projects for villagers living below the poverty line. We have funded 70 projects to date and have plans for many more.
Africa:
We have recently been piloting a school clean water project in Ghana with the Sabre Trust. Check back soon to find out more about our work in Africa.

TECHNOLOGY
FRANK Water use the latest filtering technology to remove bacteria, viruses and, very importantly, dissolved chemicals from the water. Once a project is set up, it is owned, run and maintained by the local community, with support workers on hand to provide advice when needed. Local operators from that specific village are trained to operate and maintain the facility. The technology we use has to conform to our detailed criteria, which include that the provision of water that is guaranteed safe, not just now, but in one month, one year, or even 20 years’ time. We currently work with two main types of technology: UV and reverse osmosis.
Feedback
Abig thank you from our team. FRANK Water simply wouldn’t exist without its army of friends, supporters and fundraisers. But why support FRANK Water?
“Before the project came, I was treating five to six cases of diarrhoea every day – more children than adults. Villagers would need to take a week to ten days off work and pay around 300 rupees for medication. Acute cases of diarrhoea could last fifteen days and would need Hospital treatment. I saw around ten to fifteen cases of acute diarrhoea per year before the Project. Now there are no cases of diarrhoea at all here. The village has started transporting the water to sell at other villages and I am encouraging them to drink this water as I can see what a difference it makes. I have started treating patients in other villages as well now, because here, my work is less.”

“There are many water charities out there but in my opinion FRANK water is one of the best; friendly, efficient, small but above all effective at building long term solutions – I am incredibly proud to have raised money for FRANK Water.”

“I completed the Rickshaw Run in 2010 with the Adventurists raising funds for FRANK Water – I didn’t really recognise the need for clean water – That is until I got sick in India from drinking dirty water – I cannot recommend their work highly enough. Hats off to FRANK Water.”
